So You Want
To Be A Spawner
What’s their function?
Spawners contribute to the excitement of the hunt and help foster collaboration among hunters, fulfilling specific requirements to spawn powerful S Rank marks. These marks are then shared with other hunters, allowing everyone to participate in defeating them and reaping the rewards.
OVERVIEW – THE PROCESS AND TOOLS USED FOR SPAWNING
Faloop! Discord
*Be sure to read our Getting Started guide if you aren’t already setup with permissions on Faloop!

The Spawners channel (dynamis-spawners) serves as a place for spawners across Dynamis to coordinate their work so that they don’t duplicate efforts on the same task.
Faloop! Website
Since every S-Rank has its own unique spawn triggers, Faloop has provided detailed explanations for each one. You’ll refer to the Faloop website for all the information you’ll need in that regard.
There are a few “categories” or “types” of spawns. Some examples are: gathering spawns (where you have to catch a special fish or gather materials to have a chance at spawn), “landmine” spawns (where you have to perform an action or have a certain minion out directly on the spawn coordinates), kill counts or “KCs” (where you have to kill a certain number of mobs to get a spawn), weather condition spawns (only spawn when the weather in-game is right), discard spawns (where you have to discard certain items from your inventory for a spawn) and treasure map spawns. Some S-Ranks require you to die or almost die as well. There are lots of variations to this, and that’s part of the fun!
HOW TO SPAWN
- Make sure you’re on the S-Ranks tab on the Faloop website, then set up your preferred viewing filters.
- In this example, marks with closed windows (on cooldown after a recent kill or a server reset due to maintenance or crash) are not being viewed, marks for all worlds are seen together, and marks are sorted by expansion. These settings will show marks that are about to come off cooldown shortly, as you can see with the timers that are listed in yellow.

- Unlike for conducting, with S-Rank spawning, you probably don’t want to wait until the marks have reached cap to attempt to spawn them. Many marks will spawn prior to cap, so if you aren’t trying prior to cap, other spawners will beat you to it! Basically, as long as the window is open (green or blue), you should give it a shot. For the complicated ones, like the kill-count spawns, you may want to wait until the window percentage is fairly close to cap, but if you don’t mind killing hundreds of mobs and not getting a spawn, by all means, go for it!
- To find out what requirements a particular S-Rank has for spawning, click on the mark and take a look at the Info sheet for it by clicking the icon that looks like the letter “i” with a circle around it.

- It is general spawner etiquette to check in with other spawners before working on higher effort spawns, such as the kill counts (KCs). Some KC spawners do not want assistance in the spawn, while others do! There are no “rules” about this, but it’s just being polite to your fellow spawners to abide by their wishes if they were there working on a spawn before you.
For coordinating with your fellow spawners, there are several things you can do: you can post in the dynamis-spawners Discord channel to see if anyone there is already working on the spawn, you can call out on your linkshells, you can head to the zone and do a player search in the area to see if you recognize any of the names as other spawners, and you can even shout in the zone to see if anyone responds that they are already working on it.
For low-effort/RNG spawns (like gathering spawns), just show up alongside any other hunters and give it a try. If it’s a special-node gathering spawn where you only have one shot at it (like Croque-Mitaine), sometimes it’s nice to wait until the spawner who was there before you has taken their shot before trying yours. That way it’s easier to tell who got the spawn.
Some other spawner behavior you may run into is seeing people afk at a spawn location with their minion out, waiting for the spawn to happen as the RNG chances slowly creep upward. If you see someone doing this, it’s polite to move on to a different spawn and let them have that one. - Once you’ve begun the spawning attempts, watch your screen or your system log for the message “You sense the presence of a powerful mark…” That will be your indication that the spawn was successful!
- Next, fly around to the possible spawn points noted on the Faloop map to locate your mark (this is why B-sciencing can be so helpful!!).
- Once you’ve found your spawn, get it up on Faloop! Check to see if there are any other S-Ranks that have been released or queued before yours by looking in the s-ranks-reporter channel on Discord, this will help you determine if you should do an immediate release to the public, or a manual release where you hold it in a queue before release. Generally, use a manual release if there were others ahead of yours, either currently up, or in the queue. Otherwise, release it immediately.
Back on the Faloop site, on the page for your spawn, click the dot for the coordinates where you found the mark so the big red X appears there and then click “Spawned Now”. That’s when you’ll be presented with the option to either release it immediately, or schedule it for a manual release. Choose accordingly. If you are doing a manual release, keep an eye on the Discord and when the mark ahead of yours is killed, then you may release yours.

IMPORTANT NOTES
S-Ranks are generally released to the public in the order they get spawned, but sometimes, with coordination with the other spawners in the queue, we will release them out of order for specific reasons: for example if they get pinged on Centurio Hunts too early via the in-game third-party tool “Sonar” and the mark already has a lot of people gathered to kill it (making it an high early pull risk), or if a mark on the same world as the current release spawns.
When putting your spawn up on Faloop, please note that you can add multiple spawners if it was a team effort. Tell the others who worked on it with you to go to the tab and click the plus sign to add their names. Please reference to the image below.

- Once your spawn is released to the public, relay it to your linkshells in-game.
- Get your party finder up. Recruit members to your party. The Duty will be “The Hunt” and in the comments section, you can provide the name and location of the S rank, if you’d like. Some spawners even mention the Pull Time in the party finder, but most simply put “S” in the comments, since people who arrive will have gotten the relay elsewhere with the flag coordinates.
- Set a pull time (PT)! On Dynamis, we have established a culture of waiting at least 3 real-world minutes from the time a mark has been released to the public on Faloop before we pull the mark and start the kill. For Dawntrail marks, this is usually upped to 5-minutes. This is to give ample time for people to world or DC hop and make it to the spawn in time to get credit. It’s all about trying to be as inclusive as possible when we can.
Once you have determined your PT, wait for people to start arriving and shout the PT so everyone is aware. You should probably repeat the shout once per real-world minute so new arrivals are aware.
Usually, spawners mention pull times in Eorzean Time (ezt is often used as an abbreviation rather than ET since ET could be confused with Eastern Time in the real world). Keep in mind that one Eorzean hour is 2 minutes and 55 seconds of real world time. If you wanted to only wait the minimum 3 recommended real-world minutes, setting a pull time exactly an hour from the current time in-game could work just fine. Another option is to use local time (LT), though this seems less common on Dynamis. If you use LT, shout something like “PT xx:45 LT”.
The only time we may not want to set PT to anything longer than 3 minutes is when we have the multiworld weather spawns back to back like with Croakadile, Mindflayer, Laideronnette, and Kirlirger, since there are so many to get to before people outside of our community start getting impatient and decide to try to kill the marks on their own. - Pull the mark at the said time and enjoy the kill with your fellow hunters!
If there’s an early puller, having a tank with high-level gear can help. They might be able to regain aggro and reset the mark’s HP by dragging it away (note that this is technically against ToS and could result in a complaint against you if the EPer is aggressive). On higher-level S-Ranks, it’s often fine to ignore early pullers and wait for the actual pull time since their HP pool is higher and everyone will have time to get a hit in. - When the mark dies, be sure to note the death in Faloop and thank people for joining you in the hunt!

Congratulations on your first spawn!
HELPING OTHERS
If you notice a spawn that was not yours, but it has not gotten up onto Faloop and you’re pretty sure it wasn’t a Faloop member who spawned it, you can put it up on Faloop on the other person’s behalf. Follow the same procedures as if it were your own spawn, but remove your name from the mark so you are not claiming credit for a spawn you did not do. To do this, click the minus sign next to your name before you release the spawn (you can also go back and remove your name after releasing it too if you forgot).
B-SCIENCING
As you have seen by now, there are many locations where the S-Rank could spawn in a zone. This could mean a lot of flying around searching for your mark once it spawns, or worse, having to blow yourself up as a Blue Mage over multiple spawn locations until you find the right one to trigger the spawn. Luckily, we have a way to determine where the S-Rank will spawn next. When an S-Rank dies, it will immediately reserve its next spawn location and no other hunt mark will be allowed to spawn there until the S-Rank has made its next appearance. This means we can go around marking the sightings of A-Ranks and B-Ranks across the map, knowing that the S will not spawn in those locations. Eventually, we’ll narrow it down so far that we know the single location for the next S-Rank spawn.
To mark your sightings, head over to the B-Rank tab on the Faloop website and look for any of the spawn locations that appear in Blue.

If the dots are Blue, that means no sighting has yet been recorded for that location. If it is green, then it is either the spot where the S-Rank last spawned (which it cannot claim twice in a row), or it may be a location that another hunter spotted an A or B at.
Once you’re sure no one else has already seen the mark at the location you’re at, click the dot on the map, then click “New Sighting”. You will be asked to confirm, so click “Yes”, if you’re certain you marked the correct world and location.

If you realize you marked the wrong spot (for example, if you were on the wrong world), simply click the green dot again and then click “Clear Sighting”, and again confirm the removal by clicking “Yes”.

It’s easy to document the sightings for the marks you currently see up on the map, but you can go a step further by killing the B-Ranks over and over again because they respawn within 15-20 seconds in a new spot (or sometimes the same spot). Eventually, you may be able to get the B-Rank to spawn in a spot where nothing had been sighted before, and that checks one more spawn location off the list. This is the work that goes into figuring out where the S-Rank will spawn.
If a zone has been fully mapped, but you notice that a A or B Rank mark has taken the expected spot of the S-Rank, the mapping was done incorrectly. At that point, it is best to clear the entire map of sightings and start fresh. There is a grey colored button across the bottom reading “Clear All Sightings” that will do this.
